Low-Fun Fourth of July

Mother Nature sucked this weekend. She took out a bunch of anger on Wichita, KS and totally ruined my laying out plans. My tan is horrible. I am sad.

Additionally, I did a terrible job of taking pictures of the what fun I did have (which included an amazing SlowFoods pot luck, a wonderful trip with my mom to the farmer's market, a relaxing afternoon with Kat, Hill, and Harper, and a fun barbecue with Russell's family.) I did, however, take one photo:

These beautiful wild floors where bought at the farmer's market and were grown by a charming woman who sells bounds of bouquets for next to nothing. I was thoroughly happy to find a sunflower as I was in the great state of KS after all.

Although there was no sun, there were definitely some bright spots in the holiday weekend. I loved seeing my fam, Russell's fam, and my hilarious friends--every one warmed my soul...even though my skin did not get tan.

  2. I am happy that you spent part of your weekend with us. I always enjoy the time I get to spend with you and the great spirit you bring with your personality. Thanks for the flowers, too! They are still beautiful!
